Paediatric Urology in Thane
Ideally between 6–18 months. Early surgical correction achieves the best cosmetic and functional outcomes.
If the testis has not descended by 6 months of age (corrected for prematurity), surgical orchidopexy is recommended. Most cases are day-care or short-stay procedures.
Most cases of physiological phimosis are normal and resolve naturally as the child grows. We only recommend intervention if there is recurrent infection, ballooning during urination, or pain.
A hydrocele is fluid collection around the testis. Many resolve on their own by age 1-2. Surgery is generally only needed if it persists beyond this age or is associated with a hernia.
Most pediatric urological surgeries are minimally invasive. Children typically recover quickly, often returning to normal, light activities within a few days after the procedure.
